Delivered: Ibora, The Beach Bag Reimagined
“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment.
The Ibora Beach Bag from Summer Gear is everything you need for a trip to the beach. Not just a bag, the Ibora also has a full-sized detachable blanket inside and features that simplify your outing.
I’m able to fill the corner pockets with sand to keep the blanket steady in the wind, and I like that I can use the bag even when everything is laid out. When I’m done, it becomes a normal drawstring bag. There is a waterproof pocket to keep my phone and keys out of the elements and not worry about anyone dripping water onto my things. With four bag styles and six blanket designs, it makes for a great gift.
Summer Gear created the Ibora Beach Bag in Barcelona and was inspired by Africa’s vibrant colors and designs. They use traditional African wax print fabrics that make the bag and blanket durable and light. There are zippers on the inside of the bag so smaller items won’t get lost at the bottom. The blankets are detachable and easy to wash and the main compartment can double as a pillow.
The bulky beach bags are now a thing of the past. Summer Gear wanted to solve several problems including the blanket that blows away in the breeze and the wet swimsuit that soaked through everything that was in the bag with it.
Biking through the city with a bulky beach bag. Forgetting to bring a blanket and having to sit in the sand. Getting sand everywhere as my blanket keeps catching the breeze. Coming home to find that the wet swimwear has soaked through everything in my bag. The blanket measures 6 feet long and 3.6 feet wide when it’s all spread out. The drawstring bag comes together at just over 1.5 feet long 1 foot wide. The small size packs a big punch.
