“Game On” is a series in which we examine the companies, creators, and games in crowdfunding. We look at the journey, ideas, and concepts the creators wanted to bring to market with their product.”

Impact! Miniatures is a 3D printing company that was created by lifetime gamers for gamers specializing in creating high quality dice and miniatures along with board and card games. They started in 2006 and started printing miniatures that they felt were missing along with conversion sprees to help gamers make better custom pieces. Impact! aims to help the community by giving an easy outlet for amateur sculptors to have their work cast or for tournament organizers to have their own custom giveaways created. Impact! believes that lost and forgotten or made miniatures shouldn’t stay lost to the hard drive abyss they’ve been relegated to which is why they decided to revive The Lost KS Mini Project.

The campaign for The Lost KS Mini Project was launched on September 19, 2018. Their project was fully funded within the first day and they started working on their stretch goals. Within the first week they were able to unlock their second stretch goal. Impact! modeled some of the miniatures that they would be unlocking of Samurai Elves that had been requested, and also some figures that had been requested from Wizards Academy Game. They were able to raise $10,873 and deliver miniatures to 211 backer that had supported their campaign.

Impact! prints miniatures that are generally no longer available to the general public. Miniatures that are from discontinued lines, failed, or undelivered projects that the company thinks should be resurrected. With this campaign they were able to bring to light minis that were no longer available or that never saw the light of day. Over the past year Impact! reached out to different Kickstarter creators who’s lines of miniatures failed to fund and never got delivered. Impact was able to license  or purchase everything that they were releasing in this campaign.

ALL miniatures in this Kickstarter were provided unpainted. They were either spincast resin or high quality 3-D prints done on a top end printer by Impact!'s 3-D print shop. Because of the way that they were printed you could not see print lines after priming and paint. The miniatures were translucent blue as to which durable high detail material.
