“Delivered:” is a series in which we look at crowdfunded ideas that have successfully shipped to their supporters. We dive into the final product, after its long journey from concept to fulfillment

ZZap! 64 was the magazine that everyone used to read for honest reviews about games to buy for their Commodore 64 home computer gaming system in the 80’s. Fusion Retro Books has now rereleased an issue of their much loved ZZAP! 64 magazine as a hardback annual edition. The ZZap! 64 Annual is compiled by the Veterans of the gaming industry by names that I recognized. I was also happy to hear that they bringing back the Gold Medal awards with the opportunity to hear from the creators of some of the games.

The hardback annual has 112 pages and is in full color throughout. Inside I found reviews of games from over the past ten years or so, given by recognized names in the gaming industry such as Jazz Rignall, Robin Hogg, Paul Morrison, Chris Wilkins and Matt Allen. It has a cover and artwork done by Oliver Frey. The annual not only contains honest frank reviews of the games for the system, but also in depth features and cutting edge humor from the likes of Gary Penn and Julian Rignall. The annual has the same feel to it as the annuals that were released back in the 80s and 90s such as the Beano or Dandy.

Other memorabilia’s also available with the ZZap! 64 Annual release, such as a calendar, hat, photo framed character photos of DIZZY and ARCHER, a ZZap! Mug, ZZap! t shirt, canvases with signed certificate of authenticity, The ZZap! cover on a canvas, SIZZLER Commodore 64 game, artwork that  has been framed and signed, a POND package, a THALMUS Package, ZZap backpack, and other items. There were lots of things for me to choose from.

Fusion Retro Books did a fabulous job creating a quality ZZap! 64 Annual. The book is made well and will last for a long time. They have also released a large quantity of collectors items for all of the retro gaming fans.
