Graphic Novel Adventures is a solitaire gaming experience that I can take on the go. The designer of the books was the creator of the solitaire game Hostage Negotiator. Each of the books tell a cohesive and engaging story, and are filled with puzzles, riddles, hidden numbers, and other challenges. They allow me to choose my own story, and map my own path based on the decisions that I make in the novel. They can be read over and over again with a different result every time. I learn as I go to figure out which choices and paths are best to achieve the best outcome.
The Graphic Novel Adventures feature a variety of themes to choose from. The characters in each of the books have character sheets with a specific number of skill points to be divided between skills such as strength, dexterity, and will. As I have read through the books I have found that some configurations of these choices are better than others. Hidden clues are found throughout the book to help me to solve the puzzles.
The set of Graphic novels comes in 5 different books, each with a different theme.
Captive is about a man whose daughter is kidnapped. They go to the location where she is being held and are trying to get her back. Tears of a Goddess is about a professional bounty hunter who is tracking down 3 violent criminals in the orient. Lou Garou is about the dangers of becoming a were wolf, in the novel you fight off Vampires, trolls and were wolf hunters. Your Town is about the mayor of a small town in the wild west. Sherlock Holmes is about a detective who solves crimes by deductive reasoning along with the help of his sidekick Dr Watson.
The Graphic Novel Adventures are very well thought out, they create a challenge, and are very engaging to read. It usually takes me a handful of times to try to solve the riddles and puzzles in the books in order to succeed. Each book is filled with several hours of gameplay and contain a point system where I can gain points based on achievements.
