The Electric Lamp Paint Kit is the perfect way to play, and introduce your kids to technology. Electric paint is something that is usually used to create circuit boards. Electrical engineers use it to connect the small parts of a circuit and provide energy to the entire board. My husband who is a computer electrical engineer was very excited when he saw this kit as a opportunity to teach our kids about science and the way that electrical paint works. It is a great way to experience something in science that has a real life application. My daughter enjoyed participating in the engineering process and be able to paint her own light up board.
It is possible for us to make three different kinds of lamps from the kit. A dimming lamp, a proximity lamp, and a touch sensative lamp. All were very fascinating to try out. The kit included 3 lamps with different settings, conductive paint, easy templates, light up board, lampshade power, and an instruction test sheet. There were no tools and no programming required. The lamps are powered by USB connection so we plugged them into the computer, or you could simply connect them to a USB charger for on the go. The instructions said that you can take any piece of paper and turn it into a light to personalize it, we are going to glue a piece of scrapbook paper onto the top to turn it into a personalized light for my daughter.
The Electric Paint Lamp Kit was easy to use, my daughter squeezed the electric paint out onto the paper, and then set the light and battery on top. The paint came out easily and it was very simple for her to use. It had practice guides on the instructions and she got the hang of it quickly. It was a very fun project and she was excited when she saw it light up.
We were very excited about the possibilities for this lamp's use. It would be perfect for an emergency lamp. Because it can be used with portable USB's, it would fit very easily into a camping backpack or 72 hour kit. You could probably preassemble it and also use it for power outages. The electric lamp can be used to provide light on a halloween costume, or for anything that you wear at night that you want to light up like a bike helmet.
Overall it was a very fun, educational and useful product. We will be purchasing a few of these lamps for emergency use and on the go. You can view the Electric Paint Lamp Kit, and find more information at www.bareconductive.com .
